Journey Home

The last week’s been a happening one.
Exams got over, sigh!
The amazing train journey to New Delhi from Pune;
the experience with the cold weather ever since I got
into the train To the Capital;
Nepal (keep falling in Love with this beautiful land).

Pune fever was still into me until I was woken up by
a bunch of ‘hijdas‘ (eunuchs) in the train. Hoping it to be
Bhavik (my roomie) greeting me a Very Good Morning in his
trademark style, Eyes half open and the ‘four fingered salute’,
and a tooth-brush in his mouth (this is exaggerated, thats
my part!), but my happinnes was short lived.
The ‘clap-clap‘ shook me out of my deepest slumber and the
‘bhaiya-bhaiya, paise-paise‘ reverberated through my spine.

But who cared, I went back to my sleep, and dreamt of home.
The ‘claps‘ and the ‘bhaiya,paise‘ only acting as a lullaby
until it slowly faded away in the midst of the rocking train
and the ‘khata khatak, khata khatak‘ which was synonymous to
a cradle and the sweet chimes.

Merry Christmas.
